FA pitches complete at Westfield
Sheffield was the UK’s first area to create a series of football hubs as part of the FA/Sport England’s Parklife initiative delivered by Sheffield City Council.
Richard Pierpoint worked on all three of these schemes at Graves, Thorncliffe and Westfield.
He joined Broadfield in June 2017 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor from Sheffield City Council, and secured the commission from the Council to continue his involvement in delivering Westfield. Westfield was the largest of the three hubs with a total value of circa £4.4m, and opened to the public in September 2017.
Richard says: “Working on the FA pitches has been a career highlight and being able to continue with them once I joined Broadfield was ideal. It was the best of both worlds – I was able to see the project through to completion and develop my career at Broadfield.”
Tom Lawrence, Director says: “I have had my eye on Richard since working with him at Sheffield City Council when he was a trainee. I could see then that he had huge potential, so I am really pleased that our company was able to offer him a position. Richard’s extensive Public Sector experience is a great asset to Broadfield’s service offer.”
